My desktop is a dell and its on windows 7 and its fairly new
its acting irraticall being slower then it should be, its almost so bad that the computer is becoming unuseable. I can't afford tech support and would like to try cleaning my history and then do a virus scan

What else should I try?

I would suggest you download CCleaner, it is a very good good tool! I have also heard of a sight called wubi or something along those lines! If you search for that I'm sure you'll find it, but I haven't personaly tried it so be a little cautious and do some research on that one before you use it. Hope that helps you out
