How do i download photos from my S2 to my laptop?

My laptop is running windows 8.1 My phone is a Samsung S2 My Yoga phone companion is not working. I'd rather use my USB cable.

Connect your phone through USB in data transfer mode and as popup appear then select open photos, it will browse all your image files
