usually local recycling centre will take it-but-remove the hard drive first and if you dont want to delete all the stuff in it and keep it as a secondary hard drive to your new PC (very useful for storing photos etc.) and you are recycling this hard drive also then it's no good just deleting stuff on it as it can all be recovered. best bet is dismantle it and smash up with a hammer then recycle into "unrecyclable materials" skip.
